My 3 Best Nutrition, Exercise, Motivation Secrets

Dear Friend,

I was talking with someone whom I love very much. She’s going through a tough time, doubting her future, worried about some sick family members, asking, “What’s the point of it all?”

That’s what inspired this post. I wanted to give her the best of what I’ve learned in 30 years, myself often feeling how she was now feeling.

What follows are powerful, simple secrets that can change the life of someone very dear to you, including yourself ;-)

All my best,

Peter ❤️

3 Nutrition, Exercise, Motivation secrets

Nutrition

The healthiest people in the world are not vegan, don’t diet, and love to eat. Yet, they live the longest, healthiest, happiest lives. What’s their secret?

WHOLE FOODS

Whether it’s animal protein, fruit, or vegetables, eat foods with no added ingredients, except delicious herbs and spices. (Did you know a Chick-fil-A Sandwich has over 50 ingredients, including antibiotics & MSG.)

Shop at farmer’s markets and stick to the perimeter of your grocery store.

80/20 Rule- Eat this way 80% of the time, then indulge when you choose. That’s power over food.

Whole foods = Energy, happier mood, weight loss, mental clarity, less anxiety, less depression.

You can do it. Ask me how.

Exercise

This one might surprise. My best exercise tip is not an exercise, but what you’re thinking about during exercise. Remember, all exercise has a benefit.

Remember Pavlov’s dog? Ring a bell, get food. Eventually, bell means food.

What if when you’re exercising, your brain & body releasing painkillers, antidepressants, anti-anxiety, human growth hormone, and other feel good drugs, you thought about that vacation, or Friday night dinner, or doing some good in the world?

Then, like Pavlov’s dog, you’d start to get excited when you think about exercise. Excited equals motivated.

Start now- The next time you exercise think of who and what you love most, instead of bills, social media, or politics.

(Re Pic- I’d joke to my son, “I’m getting ready in case the Yankees call. That’s called fantasizing during exercise :-)

Motivation

You probably know this, the best motivation is the instrinsic kind.

What’s that? The kind that comes from inside, that you own, that no one can take away from you.

How do you create intrinsic motivation?P.S. Start by focusing those thoughts during exercise, then sit quietly, and think long a hard, “What’s my biggest purpose? What must I accomplish? When I am my best, what am I doing that I love?” “Who am I with?”

Those are just some of the questions my clients ask themselves to get self motivated.

P. S. I’ve been talking about motivation since the olden days, as you can see in the pic ;-)

BONUS

Relationships.

You know this- you and I are social animals, and though we may like to hibernate at times, we come alive when we’re with people we love, and love to serve.
