Vegan vs Carnivore: To be, or not to be

Dear Friend,

“Do I have to be a vegan to be healthy?” is a question I hear often. The answer, which will be good news for my carnivore/omnivore friends, is no. Watch this 2 minute clip to learn why, and how.

Vegan vs Carnivore

I’ve been sharing with you for years now that some of the healthiest people in the world live in Blue Zones, living to 100, happy and fulfilled. They eat mostly plant based (vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, whole grains), with small amounts of good quality animal protein. What’s good quality animal protein? Glad you asked:

  • Wild fish (canned salmon is an affordable option compared to fresh salmon)

  • Grass fed beef/bison (My kids and I love ground bison burgers)

  • Organic chicken, lamb, pork, eggs (organic labeled animal products cannot containt GMO’s pesticides, added hormones or antibiotics, or artificial ingredients.)

Want to know my trick for eating healthier?

I’m typically vegan by day, carnivore/omnivore by night, meaning, for breakfast and lunch I eat plant based foods (most of the time, with exceptions, like weekends), and for dinner I eat plant based with animal protein, ie- Organic Chicken Tagine, or Braised, Grass Fed, Lamb Shank. If you want to learn more about how to eat this way, or intermittent fasting, or how to exercise smarter, reach out to me here.
