2nd Family and Friends TABLE

I had a vision last year. It started with a thought, “I’d love to get the people I love and care about together, serve them healthy food and drinks (I serve organic liquors, sustainable wines, and homemade limoncello), and engage in authentic talk. Now, all I needed was a table big enough. That’s where my brother comes in. He and his crew helped me build this table. Well, they did it. I held a board and drove one or two screws in :-).

rEBOOT

Do you ever wake up panicked? I know, that may be a silly question, but I do. I’ve found something that helps decrease my anxiety and panic. It’s called Reboot, meaning I remind myself of my good qualities, and that changes my emotions from anxious and worried to confident and purposeful. My friend Jill, a therapist whom I do zoom stress seminars with, gave me the reboot strategy, so I thought I’d share it with you. I hope it helps you, like it does me. Bring Better Things Into yOUR lIFE

You’ve probably heard, "To do the same thing over and expect a different result is the definition of insanity," right? So what does that have to do with walking in the rain? Lots. I want better results, so I do different things. For example, I’ve observed successful people do the things that unsuccessful people are not willing to do. That’s not a judgment. For me, walking in the rain is a statement to my subconscious mind- I will not let weather, self doubt, other’s judgments, etc, hold me back from being my best self and living my purpose. A simple thing like ordering green tea, or walking in the rain becomes an affirmation. Slowly, doing things differently that are better for me, will bring more into my life that I want- Love, connection, growth, health, spirituality. Stickers On Fruits and Vegetables

Do you know those annoying little stickers on your tomatoes you have to peel off before eating? Well, before you peel them off, better yet, before you buy them, look at the numbers because they identify whether the fruit or vegetable you’re buying is organic, sprayed with pesticides or genetically modified. 5 Minute Walk/Run Workout

I have friends that love to run. I don’t, but I know as a health coach the benefits of sprint/interval training. So if you’re walk is not enough of a workout, but you’re not ready to run, try this- 5 minute walk warm up, 30 second jog/sprint, 3-5 minute walk (to get your heart rate down) repeat for 20 minutes.You can change the interval times around.BONUS- Sprinting/intervals can help your body produce testosterone (good for men & women). Peter’s Lamb Steaks

To my vegan friends, you might want to skip this one :-) Remember I told you about my 80/20 rule in a recent post, how I’m vegan by day. omnivore by night, and I try to eat 80% plant based, 20% animal based? Well, here’s the 20% percent- lamb shoulder steaks seasoned generously with oregano, rosemary, thyme, sea salt, & pepper. (Make sure to season both sides. In the video I only show you one side) Lay over hot coals and turn after 3-4 minutes, depending on thickness and flare ups. You don’t want them to burn so don’t walk away. Cook for 2 more minutes or so, remove, drizzle with olive oil and squeeze of fresh lemon. Enjoy! Note- I buy grass fed lamb steaks from my local supermarket. They are healthier, sustainable, cheaper than other cuts of lamb, and a good source of protein (And they’re delicious!!)
